For studio owners
Tell us about your studio and we will consider it for our featured listings. There is no cost to be considered.
A 4.9 with several hundred reviews is a stronger signal than a 5.0 with a handful. Read recent reviews for comments about teachers, cleanliness, class size and how welcoming the studio is to beginners.
Hatha and gentle classes are great for beginners, vinyasa and power yoga build heat and strength, yin and restorative classes focus on deep relaxation, and hot yoga is practiced in a heated room. Not sure which fits you? Read our guide to the types of yoga.
Most studios offer a discounted first week or class pack for new students. It is the easiest way to try several teachers and class times before committing to a membership.
Many studios list teacher credentials such as a 200-hour or 500-hour certification. If you have an injury, are pregnant or are managing a health condition, ask whether there are teachers with experience in modifications, and check with your doctor first.
Most studios rent or lend mats and props, but many students prefer their own. See our yoga gear guide for the essentials.
